I watch How I Met Your Mother many times, repeatedly, from Season 1 to Season 9. During episode 2 in Season 9, Barney's gay brother, James is getting divorced with his partner, Tom. Back to the previous season (to be precise, Season 2 'Single Stamina' episode 10), James and Tom is together in marriage. Meanwhile, in Season 7 episode 11 (The Rebound Girl), Barney invite James and Tom to Lily's new house and enjoy dinner-gathering.

Not so surprising, those two 'Tom' was actually a continuity error when the first Tom was a white guy while the next Tom was a different race from the first appearance.
Well, every great masterpiece has its own weakness. Yet still, I loved this show ^^
