10 Famous Masks

Mask, the item that I want to collect in the future. To be honest I really liked kabuki mask but don't know where to buy. Since my brain keeps thinking about kabuki mask these days, I decided to make an entry about the famous mask. Basically, there's a lot of famous mask that being listed in other website such as:

• Brazil (1985) 
• The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
• The Purge (2013)
• Bruiser (2001)

• Donnie Darko (2004)- a wide range of creepy gory masks and et cetera~

But for this entry, I just put the best-famous masks that attracts my attention (and of course, I did watch that movie/series)

10 Famous Mask

1. V for Vendetta

The freedom terrorist, known as V is based on the
image of Guy Fawkes, the member of English Catholics
who planned the failed Gunpowder Plot in 1605.
That smiling face, really inspiring me.

2. Spirited Away (2001)

No-Face, also know Kaonoshi is a faceless ghost
in Spirited Away wearing Noh mask,
hiding his big mouth and throwing
a lot gold for greedy people. Isn't he cute?

3. Big Hero 6

The main antagonist in Big Hero 6 is Professor Callaghan,
also know as Yokai based on his mask. The main reason
why I loved this movie is the Japanese culture and
of course, Yokai!

4. The Mask (1994)

Portrayed by Jim Carey as Stanley Ipkiss, this slapstick
comedy movie is about Ipkiss discovered the magical mask
owned by trickster god, Loki and turn into a supernatural
playboy.

5. Friday the 13th (2009)

The mask in this horror movie is not an ordinary mask.

The main antagonist, Jason Vorhees is an insane slasher 

wearing hockey mask and naturally become a bogeyman

for today.

6. Avatar Korra (season 1)

Avatar Korra is not a movie, just the Nickelodeon cartoon series
but during the 1st season, the main antagonist, Amon is
really get my attention because of his cynical mask face in
order to equalize everyone, bender and non-bender. But
the intention to equalize is obviously just for his benefits
(he's the blood-bender).

7. The Man in the Iron Mask (1998)

The adventure-historical 1998 movie, portrayed by Leonardo
DiCaprio as two persons (King Louis XIV/Philippe of Gascony).
There's a lot to learn in this movie (betrayal, dishonest, corruption,
and jealousy- I don't have to mention the sexual part) but there's
one thing I remember, that iron mask.

8. Rurouni Kenshin (anime series)

In anime series of Rurouni Kenshin, the earliest antagonist
(not really evil man actually but just a lonely loyal man) is Hannya.
Hannya is basically using a Hannya mask, one of the Yokai character in
Japanese culture but for his case, he wears the mask in order to hide
his ugly face.

9. Silence of The Lambs

It is impossible to speak if this kind of person standing
in front of you. The Hannibal's muzzle had prevented the main
antagonist, Hannibal Lecter from eating people's face. But
because of his gory habit, he managed to escape. Clever gory
villain.

10. The Scream

Please don't forget the unforgettable Scream mask, in The Scream
Under the influence of Edvard Munch's artwork, this artwork
comes to real terryfing (and funny in Scary movie)
