TraveLog: Matang Family Park

28 October 2012/ Sunday

Sunday morning, rain is falling,
Steal some covers, share some skin,
Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable,
You twist the mold that I am in...

Sunday morning, 8 o'clock, the sizzling rain turned out to be quite heavy. The atmosphere began to be very cold and damp, plus, hungry. Yet, it doesn't stopped us to go and have fun this watery weekend. Yes, we're going to refresh ourselves inside the cold mountain water at Matang Family Park.

Matang Family Park

Matang Family Park, part of national treasure in Kubah National Park is located 22 km from Kuching and covers an area of 87.50 acres of largely undisturbed forest. Yes, it is. I can smell something what we called as 'tranquility' and 'pure plush' in there.

Maybe I should called it as 'corner of the earth'.

Situated at foothills of the gradual valley of Gunung Serapi (one of the famous local mountain at Kuching, probably once a prince, loved by two well known princesses which were Santubong and Sejinjang), the refreshing mountain water of Sungai Cina feels wintery in the morning after the rain between the untouched natural flora and fauna. Green thingie decorating the landscape, combined by the water streaming over rock ledges and boulders. I'm pleased to say that this place is very convenient for self leisure, family activities and unofficial gathering---one of the best site for town people getting out from the bustling city life. It has provided a wide place for BBQ pits, picnics, playground, campsite, jungle trekking, showers and toilets, snack food stall, wooden benches, cottages, and a wide space for social activities (school trip, school batch reunion, organisation event etc).

It is open 8am-5pm in daily including public holidays and the fee entrance is RM3.00 for the adult above 18, RM2.00 for teenagers (13-18 years old), RM1.00 for children (7-12 years old) and free for children below 7. Buses are not available to reach this place, so if you (my readers) wants to come here, you have to drive your car, ride someone's vehicle or rent a vehicle.

Few images while at Matang Family Park

Sign board of Matang Family Park, counting minutes to go there.

The river flow over the rocks and boulders, place where I sat and soak my feet.

Look at here first, a good way to get to know this place..^^

I never thought once in my life that Bintawak is the name of a tree.
I've learned something from those trees over there.

Smile everyone!

A wide place for activities, get the idea now where to
throw your reunion with old buddies?

Another view (at above); the nature scene of the river cascade and its
scattered small bight.

"Oh, chicken, oh chicken, wherefore art thou  Chicken?"

Now, it's time for us to search another place for our weekend.
